Makeup Basics: The Good Old Concealer Stick
Concealer Stick (and foundation) is something a beautician can't even imagine not having with them when starting their work. The same goes for beauty enthusiasts and beginners just entering the makeup universe. They are undoubtedly one of the most essential makeup cosmetics of current times. We decided to write an article about them and all the essential things related, including their different types and advantage. So, here we go.
So, What is this Stick about?
Concealer sticks are one of the types of skin concealers which resemble lipsticks in terms of their appearance and packaging. They are all about their ability to hide dark circles and imperfections on top of the skin. Often made in a stick form and many others. They remain one of the most popular and widely used cosmetics.
Is it the Same as a Makeup Foundation?
They are often taken to be similar to Makeup Foundation, but they are not. Unlike face foundations, they are characterized to be in small packaging because of their little application to be used only on patches unsuitable for makeup. They are thick in nature and are pigmented as compared to foundations, which are meant to be used on the entire face and are made to even the tone of one's face. Looking for a great foundation? Try Try Nourishing Essence Foundation, we are loving it thanks to its great finish.
They are also very different regarding the chemical formulae they are made from and have different packaging sizes due to their usage volume. They can hide blemishes, acne and dark spots from the skin, but they can still be used interchangeably. In short, concealers are not meant to be used on the entire face, while makeup foundations are.
They Exist in different forms and types
Concealers are made in different types and forms. Stick concealer is the most common type and is also found in liquid and cream forms. Like our favorite Flawless Glaze Silky Touch Liquid Concealer. A great product that we recommend to everyone. Coming back to their types, they are also made in the color-correcting form, essentially neutralizing the skin's natural colour. Commonly, they come in pink, yellow, green, purple, and peach colours.
What about Concealer Sticks?
They are made in a heavier composition as compared to liquid concealers. They are made to give a flat and matte finish to the skin. They are most recommended for people with oily skin. They can use this type to hide their imperfections and fix the extra oil secretions that can plague makeup. Speaking of which, if your skin is oily, do try Clear 3-color Concealer Palette from Perfect Diary. It is made acne friendly and remains one of our most recommended products.
What's Good About them?
As mentioned before, they are one of the most common and crucial cosmetics. They are most commonly used before starting a daily makeup routine. They have many advantages, and we can only consider keeping them in our makeup kits.

5. If you only have a concealer but forgot to bring your lipliner or lip gloss but still want to give your lips, it will save the day. It can be used on their lips to give them a plump-up. Put a small dot on the upper and lower lip and blend it with your fingers. You are then good to go for your next pout.
6. Use your concealer on the eyelids before using an eyeshadow primer. It will make double the amount to stick at your lids. Cool little hack.
7. Next time you make your eye wings, swipe your angled brush on the tip of your concealer. This will neaten up the resulting wing.
8. Get even more glow on your face by using these sticks on the tops of your cheekbones, down your nose, above cupid's bow and middle of your chin. Put the highlighter of your choice on top of them (a dot will do) and blend them, resulting in neutralized and glowing skin tone.
9. You can also use concealer sticks to add contour to your face. Just make sure to get the one with darker tones than your skin and can be used on the usual spots suitable for contouring.
