Everything to Learn about the Magical Smokey Eyeliner

Smokey eyeliners are a set of eyeliners used to give a smokey eyes look. It has been a timeless fashion and is the most versatile form of makeup. Whether you are on a date or with friends at a hangout or a red carpet, smokey eyeliners give the look one will always be proud to have and will twist many necks. This is our take on smokey eyeliner and everything you need to know about them.

The Smokey Eyes
Smokey eyes are one of the most common and attractive looks. Their neutral looks and feature characterise them to go with any outfit, making them a staple of beauty and makeup enthusiasts, both newbies and pros. They can be worn as a party or formal makeup in the evening and even sometimes during the day, making them the most loved option for women of all ages.

The makeup of smokey eyes dates back to the Egytpian lords, where women of those times frequently used darker shades above their eyelids with dark and smudged eye makeup. Their cosmetics were made from kohl and crushed minerals. Nowadays, the eyeliners and shades used for smokey eyeliners are excellent grade and are incredibly safe, thanks to extensive research behind them.

How to Get Smokey Eyes?
This go-to look can be achieved with "smokey eyeliners," which basically are standard eyeliners available in the market but used with particular makeup techniques. Here we will give you a simple yet effective makeup tutorial for smokey eyes for the next event you plan to attend.

Typically, for every smokey eyes makeup, one will need three kinds of eyeshadows:
1. Eyeshadow with a lighter shade for a base colour.
2. Eyeshadow with a darker shade for your primary lid colour
3. And a Medium Shade eyeshadow to blend out the dark lid colour.

For this tutorial, You will need Eye Shadow Primer, Mascara, Pocelean eyeshadow of brown shade and three more eyeshadows of medium matte brown with a warm undertone, a light shimmering off-white, and a light yellow shade as smokey eyeliners. Once all set, follow these steps:

1. Prep the eyes with your chosen eyeshadow primer by using a tiny amount and applying a tiny amount. Give at least five minutes so that the thin layer of the skin properly absorbs it.

2. Use some setting powder to make the eyeshadows look even more even. Please ensure not to overdo it, as this step remains an additional step.

3. Use your wet/dry eye brush to apply porcelain eyeshadow as your base shadow. This will make the lid look like a brown shaded bone. Remember that one can also use darker shades instead of medium brown, depending on your skin tone.

4. Apply Brownie Points eyeshadow onto the lids, taking it into the crease. Use the eye brush on the colour until you reach the desired intensity. Darker and deeper are more suitable for an evening look but less intense if you are doing a daytime look. This is the thumb rule.

5. Now apply the medium brown warm undertone eyeshadow into the crease to help blend out the edges of the browned* lids using your eye brush. Windshield wiping moves and circular motions are recommended while doing this step.

6. Use your light yellow eyeshadow to blend the edges and soften any hard edges.

7. Use your medium brown eyeshadow again at the bottom lash line using your eye brush, and then apply your medium matte brown to darken them up. You can interchange these eyeshadows for this step to blend them properly by using the windshield wiping motions explained before.

8. Use your shimmering off-white shade on the brow bone, tear ducts, and the inner corner of the eyes to give a light height to the entire eyes.
