How to form a proper almond eyes makeup? Here’s your tips and guide.
Almond eyes makeup can look stunning and stand out from the crowd if you have a particular skill and method. Makeup for any eye shape requires a specific skill to serve different purposes. Once you know the tricks, you can build on them and get creative.
How to determine your eye shape
It's pretty easy to determine your eye shape. Look for different characteristics to distinguish if your eyes are creased, hooded, upturned or downturned, etc. Every type of eye is beautiful. Knowing your eye shape can help you choose the most suitable eye makeup.
1. Monolid eyes
A person with monolid eyes does not have much of or any crease. Check your eye in the mirror if you’re not sure. Look for a crease in the center of your upper eyelid. If you don't have a crease, you have monolid eyes. You may also have flatter eyelids and less prominent brow bones than people with creases in their lids.
2. Hooded eyes
Someone with hooded eyes has eyelids that appear more petite. In hooded eyes, skin hangs down over the crease, making your upper eyelid look smaller. You have hooded eyes if you can't see the crease in your eye when your eyes are open. Many people are born with hooded eyes, and also people's eyes often become hooded as they age.
3. Almond eyes
A person with almond-shaped eyes has an iris that touches the eyelid on both the bottom and the top. They have a visible crease on the lids, and the ends of their eyes taper at the tear duct and the outer point. Almond eyes tend to be oval-shaped with narrow corners, and the outside corners of your eyes might turn up slightly.
4. Upturned or downturned eyes
You can study the tilt of your eyes to figure out whether the outer corners of your eyes lie above or below this center line. If the outer corners are above this line, you have upturned eyes.
If the outer corners are below this line, you have downturned eyes.
5. Close-set or wise-set eyes
Measure your eye with your thumb and index finger, and then hold that space between your eyes. If the distance between your eyes is less than one eye length, you have close-set eyes, but if the gap is larger than one eye length, you have wide-set eyes. If the gap between your eyes is the same width as your eyes, then you have an average spacing.
Tips on enhancing almond eyes makeup
Undoubtedly, all eye shapes are beautiful and unique, and it's reasonable to open up your options on various choices of eye makeup. However, different eye shapes do require specific techniques to achieve different goals. So here we offer some tips to accentuate almond eyes.
1. Highlight the inner corners
It's a great technique to brighten and widen an almond shape by highlighting the inner corner. You can tap on a straight-up highlighter with your fingertip or brush on a shimmery, light shadow. The Star Dust Diamond Highlight Powder would be an excellent choice since it's a diamond-dusted highlighter that delivers pure, show-stopping sparkle.
2. Try floating eyeliner
An almond shape may genuinely benefit from this graphic appearance. With a delicate, angled liner brush, draw a darker shadow line where your crease meets the base of your brow bone. Then, beginning at your inner corner, stroke the line outward until it reaches the tip of your brow. Then, using the same shadow, draw a winged liner from the outer corner of your eye, flicking it in the direction of the preceding line. Fill in both lines until the ends come together to complete the form.
If you want a more refined result, you may intensify the effect by sketching your shape with a liner of your choosing, smoothing out any sharp edges with a cotton swab, and dabbing some concealer around the edges to enhance the sharpness.
3. Curl your lashes
Another tip for all eye shapes is to curl your lashes before applying mascara. Please make sure not to clamp down too hard on those flutters lest you pluck a few precious hairs; a few seconds of hold is all you need to keep them lifted and spidery.
A basic way to do your almond eyes makeup.
Apply a medium shade eyeshadow on your entire eyelids.
Apply a darker eyeshadow color on your eyelids, starting from the outer corners and working inwards along the brow bone.
Apply the light shade eyeshadow along the brow bone and blend the colors. You can do this by making circular motions with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. Make sure you concentrate on blending where the two colors meet. This way, you blend the edges without blending away the intensity of the eyeshadow.
1. Line the upper eyelid from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner with a fine eyeliner pencil. Keep the line as close as possible to the lash line.
2. Curl your lashes with a lash curler and apply mascara. You can also use false lashes if you prefer.
